Helping Christian entrepreneurs build resilience so they can feel better and actually be as happy as they think they should be.

"Grace. Compassion. Drive, and a touch of brilliant humor. El takes the everyday and brings light to the conversation with a real life perspective that's missing for many leaders today."

- Cindi Schultz, Foothold Services

Hiya, I'm El Edwards! Mental health champion, positive psychology geek and founder of the Faith And Business Playground.

I'm here to talk openly about mental health, the "dark side" of entrepreneurism, with tools, support and resources to help build your resilience or, as I like to call it, your bounce back.

How? By bringing together like-minded Jesus geeks to create a community focussed on love, laughter & real life conversation.

Why? To help you feel less alone!

As well as membership of my free Facebook community, you'll get twice weekly emails from me with behind the scenes chit-chat and inspiration to help make your journey through this one precious life more delightful.

(And nope, when you join me, you won't find yourself stuffed into a marketing funnel. Quite the contrary ... I'm told my twice weekly emails are like a breath of fresh air!)

You in? Great! Come and join the free Faith And Business Playground community on Facebook. Click here to get started!

Or to find out more about my inspiration for this mission, (because who wants to sign up for stuff from some random person on the internet - even if she does seem super friendly?!?) click here.

You’re itching for a faith that makes a difference in this world, but all too much of the time, life simply gets you down.

Maybe you get to the end of the day and look back, only to realise that it was exactly the same as the day before, and the day before that, and the day before that.

Weeks slip into months, and before you can say “tinsel” it’s Christmas again and yet another year is over.

What if it didn’t have to be like that? What if life could be like a Jesus party, with every single day feeling delightful?

“Uh oh El, did you swallow a book about the prosperity gospel and now you’re going to start telling me my life can be brilliant, but only if I have enough faith?!?”

Fear not my love, that’s not my bag at all. The prosperity gospel is downright dangerous and isn’t based on any reality I know.

Here’s what I do know:

  • God loves you. You love God.
  • Every day isn’t wonderful, but there are wonderful moments in every day.
  • Shit happens, but that doesn’t mean God willed that for you.
  • Good stuff happens, and we can enjoy those good things with a thankful heart.
  •  You can have a (mostly) brilliant life and shine like the light God created you to be.
  •  You being you, shining your light for all the world to see, is as much an act of worship as going to church and singing songs. (Maybe more so, if you find yourself going to church just because you think you should!)
  •  You were carefully and wonderfully made, including that superb brain of yours, and there are neat brain hacks that can help make life better (and those hacks don’t need to be scary or contrary to what you read in your bible!)
  •  Just because the law of attraction wasn't introduced to the world by a Christian doesn’t mean that you can’t talk to God about the stuff that’s important to you.
  • You might feel like you’re the only delightful label-loathing Christian in your church, but you’re totally not alone.
  • Christians can be embarrassing and while that’s not okay and it would be great if they’d stop, together we can be the antidote to that and make an impact on the world.
  • We’re stronger together than we are apart.
  • Jesus isn’t a “get out of jail free” card. It’s not about saying the right words and being “done”. We can bring heaven closer to earth right now, today.

In 2010, I started blogging in a bid to raise the profile of UK charity Give A Brick and, in the process, I fell into a world of personal development and big dreaming. Thanks to YouTube I learned human needs psychology from Tony Robbins, how to be successful with Darren Hardy and how to get stuff done via (lots and lots of!) trial and error.

I read Get Rich Lucky Bitch and learned how to better look after my money thanks to Denise Duffield Thomas. I started setting goals and actually realising big dreams (like the time I published my first novel) The more I read and experimented, the more I realised that this game we call life is won or lost according to what goes on between our ears.

And yet in Christian circles, these same tools and tricks were all too often labelled as dark and dangerous and things to be incredibly wary of.

What if we could take the amazing discoveries God has given people and apply them in a way that wasn’t just in line with but actually supported our faith?

That's the Faith & Business Playground!
